I contacted 4 HVAC companies with good ratings and got pricing for both, including upgrading our old asbestos ducts with new ones. Michael and the Ariston team had the most competitive quotes, and they also installed the best HVAC brand per Consumer Reports (American Standard). Given the Bay Area air quality problems, I also went with a high-end air filtration system that was hospital grade. The crew was on-time, efficient, and considerate - kudos to Alekos and his team for being so professional. After it was installed, the independent test found that it worked with high efficiency and I received a city permit shortly after for our new system. Eric, Alekos, and team are by far the absolute best that one could hope for in all areas of professionalism, honest advice, and expertise in home heating-n-cooling matters.Before we needed any actual service, we'd connected with them for a consultation on a furnace question. Even though we weren't getting any work done with them at the time, Eric was super helpful and totally non-pressurey in letting us know what our options were.
A short while later when our aging water heater kicked the bucket, we turned to Ariston immediately. We had them replace it with a tankless model and they did an awesome job and were so lovely to work with.
Before, during, and after the water heater replacement, Eric was a constant source of support and he kept us informed every step of the way. When another contractor we were working with at the same time was cutting corners and treating us like crap, Ariston went above and beyond to help us get an adjacent issue related to our gas line taken care of. Eric also handled all of the City of Berkeley's many hoops with grace, patience, flexibility, and a sense of humor. We were actually sad when our project ended since we wouldn't be able to talk to Eric anymore because he's such an awesome dude!
Owning a home is often a pain in the neck: Things break and need fixing all the time. Many if not most contractors are total sheisters, ripping you off and making you feel like crap every step of the way. I had a older system that was having some problems with the pilot light consistently burning out and lots of leaks in my system. I called another company previously before talking to artisan and they told me that I needed to replace my whole unit because it was too old. Everything worked I just had a couple of leaks and pilot issues. Long story short I called artisan and spoke to the owner and he was out here within a couple days and sealed my system and fixed my issue without replacing my unit. He even went a step further and made some recommended upgrades that cost very little to help save money and keep my house cooler. If you are considering a HVAC company I highly recommend them . I had a older system that was having some problems with the pilot light consistently burning out and lots of leaks in my system. I called another company previously before talking to artisan and they told me that I needed to replace my whole unit because it was too old. Everything worked I just had a couple of leaks and pilot issues. Long story short I called artisan and spoke to the owner and he was out here within a couple days and sealed my system and fixed my issue without replacing my unit. He even went a step further and made some recommended upgrades that cost very little to help save money and keep my house cooler. If you are considering a HVAC company I highly recommend them . Eric came out to give the estimate. He provided a host of options and made recommendations that best suited the job. He knows his stuff and is willing to spend as much time as necessary to answer questions. Follow up emails were promptly returned with straight forward answers and professional opinion.Alekos, the owner, did the installation himself. He is a friendly, personable young man. The work was completed pretty much in a day with a return visit for the city inspection. His price was very reasonable.

All we can really say is that they are the best heating and cooling company around. Eric went over board to accommodate us with all our needs considering that everything was on a last min call.
